ABILENE, Texas — Hardin-Simmons University welcomed back a former student, who is now a Grammy Award-winning song writer.
Terri Hendrix is one of the three “Outstanding Young Alumni Recipients” who had the opportunity to discuss their career with current HSU students.

Hendrix spoke to leadership class about her career in music, life lessons, and winning a Grammy with country trio, the Dixie Chicks.

Hendrix says she is happy for the opportunity to share her story.

“It’s a big honor to me. I thought that this was a fantastic campus for me to come to. I was born and raised in San Antonio and I put myself through school, this was a good school to do that,” said Hendrix.

HSU also honored business strategist Todd Gentzel and youth ministry executive Leighton Flowers.
